October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but is also a time to raise awareness for all cancers. The American Cancer Society has been working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
The movement for more birthdays is about everyday people coming together to make a difference. This year more than 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday, and to continue this cause the American Cancer Society has teamed up with artists and musicians to raise money for research.
Swedish illustrator Kari Moden sent BSF some pictures of her contribution to the ACS campaign. Her artwork features 9 silhouettes of women who have colorful targets on their breasts. As for her inspiration behind her work, she states:
"I made this for all the women whose lives have been saved by breast cancer screenings."
There are a number of items on sale featuring Moden's illustration including a print, a poster, and wrapping paper. Moden is no stranger to contributing to good causes. She participated in the Gap (Product) Red Campaign last year as well. Join the movement by signing up at MoreBirthdays.com.
